Four Friends, One Vision
The journey of Navèt 1804 began with four lifelong friends, children of Caribbean immigrants, united by their deep-rooted heritage and a shared vision. Eddy Jean, Jean Abede Alexandre II, and Joseph Roseme, Haitian Americans, and Dwayne Naitram, a Barbadian American, grew up as brothers, bonded not just by friendship but by a mutual commitment to their cultures. From their pre-teen years, the trio from Haiti alongside their Barbadian brother harbored a dream: to make a significant impact on Haiti’s development.
Inspired by their cultural upbringing and their affection for clairin, a traditional Haitian rhum, the group earned the nickname “The Rhum Guys” during their college years. This passion for clairin and their entrepreneurial spirit led them to establish Navèt 1804. Their mission was clear—to introduce and elevate one of Haiti’s historical and cultural treasures to the U.S. and beyond.
Navèt 1804 is more than a spirits company; it’s a commitment to heritage and a promise to utilize a portion of every sale to effect positive change in Haiti. By choosing Navèt 1804, you join us in celebrating a rich cultural legacy while contributing to a brighter future for its people.
