Reserve 216 is our premium award-winning Haitian Clairin rum, aged 4 years in small-batch specialty cask barrels. This inaugural edition is strictly limited to 1,804 numbered bottles — honoring the year Haiti declared independence. Once they’re gone, this run will never be duplicated.
THE CASK
Reserve 216 was aged in a new American oak, small batch specialty craft distillery barrel, toasted at lower temperatures (up to 200°C) for a slow, deliberate flavor build. The toast penetrates approximately 5mm into the stave — and our rum reaches 8–11mm, ensuring maximum barrel influence and full extraction of the oak’s aromatic compounds. Three specific molecules derived from the toast contribute directly to the aromatic smokiness and delicate mouthfeel that define this release.
